CMF Headphone Pro & CMF Watch Pro 2: feature-heavy at accessible prices
Nothing’s CMF sub-brand continues to focus on the budget end of the consumer tech market, aiming to deliver devices with solid specifications at relatively low prices. Its latest releases, the CMF Headphone Pro and CMF Watch Pro 2, follow that approach, offering a wide range of features typically associated with more expensive products.
CMF Headphone Pro: Competitive Specs in a Crowded Category
The CMF Headphone Pro enters a market already filled with established options, particularly in the affordable over-ear segment. The headphones use 40 mm dynamic drivers with nickel-plated diaphragms and support Hi-Res wireless audio, including LDAC, enabling higher-bitrate audio on compatible devices. Hybrid adaptive active noise cancellation is rated at up to 40 decibels, designed to reduce common background noise in commuting or office environments.
Battery life is a notable strength. CMF estimates up to 100 hours of playback with noise cancellation turned off, or around 50 hours with ANC enabled. A fast-charging feature provides several hours of listening from a brief charge. Physical controls include a roller dial for volume and playback, a slider that adjusts emphasis between bass and treble, and a programmable shortcut button.
One notable feature many look for is the modular design, which allows users to replace ear cushions and choose from a range of colors.
In terms of connectivity, the headphones support Bluetooth 5.4, dual-device multipoint pairing, wired playback through a 3.5 mm jack, and USB-C charging. Software features include personalized sound tuning via Audiodo, which creates a listening profile based on an in-app hearing test. Additional modes include spatial audio for video and gaming content, as well as a low-latency gaming mode advertised at around 120 milliseconds.
CMF Watch Pro 2: Design and Function Focus
The CMF Watch Pro 2 is positioned as a design-forward smartwatch with a broad feature set. It features a 1.32-inch AMOLED display with 466 × 466 resolution, a 60 fps refresh rate, and a relatively moderate peak brightness of approximately 620 nits. The watch features an aluminum-alloy frame, a round case, and interchangeable bezels, allowing for visual customization.
Strap options vary by model and are available in leather or “liquid silicone”. Despite its relatively lightweight build, the Watch Pro 2 offers a wide range of fitness and health-tracking features. These include 120 sports modes, automatic activity recognition for select workouts, heart-rate monitoring, blood oxygen tracking, stress measurement, sleep tracking, and menstrual cycle tracking.
Additional features include Bluetooth calling with built-in noise reduction, multi-system GPS support for outdoor tracking, and gesture-based controls for specific functions such as music playback. Battery life is rated at up to 11 days with regular use, approximately 9 days with heavier usage, and up to 45 days in a power-saving mode. That puts the watch near the high end of battery life.
The CMF Headphone Pro and Watch Pro 2 are clear examples of CMF philosophy, consistently focusing on feature-rich hardware, standout design, and customization at lower price points. While real-world performance will vary by use case, both products reflect a broader market trend: narrowing the gap between budget devices and their higher-end counterparts through thoughtful feature selection and design.
