Samsung unveil Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8, and Flip8 with AI capabilities
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has officially launched its most complete and versatile foldable lineup to date. Anchored by seven generations of engineering innovations, the new Galaxy Z series caters to diverse user lifestyles by introducing three tailored form factors for the first time: the enterprise-grade Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, the immersive Galaxy Z Fold8, and the sleek, AI-native Galaxy Z Flip8. The series pushes mobile intelligence forward by tailoring proactive Galaxy AI routines to each distinct screen aspect ratio.

Samsung brings its iconic Ultra standard to foldables with the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. Measuring just 4.1 mm when unfolded and weighing 215 g, the Ultra houses an expansive 8-inch main display engineered for heavy multitasking and creative workflows.
The device packs an Ultra-level camera system led by a 200 MP main sensor with enhanced High Dynamic Range (HDR) capabilities, alongside a 50 MP ultra-wide lens. For cinematic content production, the Fold8 Ultra supports 8K video capture utilizing the new APV codec and built-in Cine LUT color grading tools. Under the hood, it is powered by the custom Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy, backed by a 5,000 mAh battery, a dual-path 45W fast-charging framework, and an expanded graphite cooling chamber.
The Galaxy Z Fold8 is re-engineered for immersive everyday discovery, weighing in as Samsung’s lightest Z Fold at 201 g. Its display ratios are tailored to user habits: a 10:16 cover screen for fast messaging and social updates, paired with a 4:3 main display that delivers cinematic gaming and comfortable long-form document reading.

The hardware introduces Flex Titanium technology, combining a titanium-alloy film with an reinforced plate to absorb pressure, reduce crease visibility, and smooth out hinge mechanics. The phone features dual 50 MP cameras, a 3,000-nit peak brightness screen with Vision Booster, and a 4,800 mAh battery.
The Galaxy Z Flip8 stands as Samsung’s slimmest Flip at 6.1 mm and 180 g. It reimagines the cover screen into an AI-native interface, allowing users to glance at Now Brief insights, execute automated Gemini Intelligence prompts via side-key or voice, and manage notifications without unfolding the device.
The camera array incorporates a 50 MP sensor paired with the ProVisual Engine, delivering natural skin tones and dynamic bokeh. Creative tools include hands-free Flex Mode shooting, Camcorder Grip with zoom control, and Super Steady video with Horizontal Lock.
The new lineup elevates Galaxy AI into an agentic companion capable of contextual cross-app execution across more than 40 supported services. Key software features include:
-
Now Brief & Now Nudge: Proactively surface contextual next steps, schedule prompts, and security insights based on user routines.
-
Gemini Notebook: A persistent multi-modal workspace where users can drag and drop documents, files, and audio recordings to instantly synthesize reports, visual summaries, or infographics.
-
AI Assistant Activity Dashboard: Embedded in One UI 9 to provide a centralized view and audit log of all automated background AI actions.
