Sandisk named exclusive storage partner for Meta VR Glasses
Sandisk announced a partnership with Meta to become the exclusive provider of next-generation flash storage solutions for Meta VR Glasses when the headset launches in Spring 2027.
The new storage products were developed in collaboration with Meta and will form part of the official Made for Meta accessories ecosystem. The lineup includes Sandisk microSD Express memory cards and USB-C flash drives designed to expand storage capacity for games, applications, and VR content.
Sandisk said the products will be tested and certified for use with Meta VR Glasses, with the aim of providing compatible, high-performance storage for users building larger libraries of VR content.
Susan Park, Vice President of Product Management for Consumer Products at Sandisk, said the company’s microSD Express memory cards are designed to integrate with the new Meta VR Glasses and provide users with additional storage capacity for media and entertainment content.
As part of the Made for Meta ecosystem, Sandisk said its storage products will undergo testing intended to meet Meta’s quality requirements and support compatibility and performance with the headset.
Sandisk plans to sell the storage products in markets where Meta VR Glasses are available. The company said the additional storage options are intended to help users capture, save, and access more VR content directly through Meta VR Glasses.
