Apple just dropped a $230 woven ‘Pocket’ for the iPhone
In a collaboration with Japanese fashion house ISSEY MIYAKE, Apple launched an interesting-looking, expensive “bag” for its iPhone lineup: the iPhone Pocket.
The new accessory resembles a flexible sleeve, similar to the classic iPod Sock. The “Pocket” is elongated into a strap crafted from a ribbed, elastic fabric, resembling a wool sock at first glance.
The Pocket comes in two versions: a short strap and a long one. The short version is available in eight colors and costs $150 (~AED 550), while the longer version, on the other hand, is available in 3 colors and costs $230 (~AED 230). Both models are compatible with all iPhone versions.
Apple states that the color collection was designed to complement every iPhone model and color. In contrast, the versatile design allows users to carry it by hand, attach it to a bag, or wear it directly.
The company that collaborated with Apple on the Pocket, ISSEY MIYAKE, was founded by the same designer responsible for creating Steve Jobs’ iconic black mock turtleneck.
The limited-edition iPhone Pocket will be released on November 14 through Apple’s online stores in multiple countries, with no availability info for the Middle East. A few flagship Apple stores will also stock the Pocket, but it won’t be available for physical purchase in most locations.
