Samsung Gulf Electronics finalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with GEMS Founders School – Al Mizhar (GFM), officially integrating the institution into the expanding Samsung Certified Schools framework in the UAE. The alliance advances Samsung’s long-term initiative to embed practical artificial intelligence tools, interactive devices, and structured professional educator training directly into daily classroom workflows across the region.

Under the tenets of this educational partnership, a dedicated Samsung AI Lab will be built within the GFM school campus. The facility will be equipped with specialized Samsung hardware solutions designed to anchor hands-on coursework spanning software coding, machine learning models, active AI applications, and digital creative design. Concurrently, a cohort of 228 students from GFM will be inducted into the proprietary Samsung Student Ambassador initiative. This framework focuses on delivering digital skills and leadership capabilities to empower young people to drive technological transformation within their classrooms and wider local peer groups.

To prepare the school’s faculty for this pedagogical transformation, 17 selected teachers from GFM will undergo advanced instruction to attain the formal Samsung Certified Educator credential. The credential curriculum prepares educators to integrate artificial intelligence and complex interactive platforms into standard lesson plans, steering classroom activities away from superficial technology utilization toward meaningful digital synthesis.

“Each new partnership reinforces what we’re seeing across the UAE,” said Jerome Hong, President of Samsung Gulf Electronics. “There’s a genuine, growing appetite for AI in education, and schools want it built into the way students learn, not bolted on. GFM joining the Samsung Certified Schools network strengthens that model and supports the goals set out in the UAE’s AI Strategy 2031.”

Akram Tarik, Principal and CEO at GEMS Founders School Al Mizhar, stated that the academic community is proud to participate in the certified network. He noted that the joint venture directly supports GFM’s strategic focus on preparing its student body for a fast-evolving digital economy where technological literacy is foundational. Through the combined resources of the custom AI Lab, the ambassador framework, and dedicated teacher workflows, the school intends to leverage technology with creative purpose and digital responsibility.

The educational collaboration is built in complete alignment with the UAE’s Artificial Intelligence Strategy 2031, emphasizing the practical, safe, and regulated application of advanced machine intelligence in modern school environments. With this signing, GFM stands as the third school in the United Arab Emirates to enter the Samsung Certified network, joining Dubai International Academy and Emirates International School Meadows. As the operational model scales up, Samsung’s macro objective is to construct a globally synchronized network of elite institutions establishing digital learning baselines, with the current UAE rollout serving as a core practical benchmark for international deployments.
