Kia Middle East & Africa, a division of Kia, has unveiled the Kia PV5 during an exclusive event held at the Museum of the Future in Dubai. The launch marks the regional debut of the first model in Kia’s Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) lineup across the Middle East and Africa.

Designed as a fully integrated electric mobility solution, the Kia PV5 introduces a new approach to transportation that blends practicality, flexibility, and next-generation technology. As the inaugural model in Kia’s PBV ecosystem, it has been engineered to address the evolving needs of individuals, businesses, and communities, supporting a wide range of applications including urban mobility, commercial operations, lifestyle use cases, and even leisure-oriented services.

Thanks to its flexible architecture, the PV5 enables multiple configuration options tailored to specific operational requirements. The regional launch in Dubai highlighted six key variants: the PV5 Passenger for personal mobility, ride-hailing, and corporate transport; the PV5 Cargo designed for logistics, delivery services, and SMEs; the PV5 Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) focused on inclusive mobility; the PV5 Prime Edition for premium and executive transport services; and the PV5 Drop Side, built for specialized commercial applications.

Commenting on the launch, Ahmed Soudodi, Vice President of Kia Middle East & Africa, said that the PV5 represents a significant milestone in Kia’s vision for the future of mobility. He emphasized that the model reflects Kia’s commitment to delivering innovative mobility solutions capable of adapting to changing customer and business needs, combining flexibility, advanced technologies, and electric mobility within a purpose-built platform.

The PV5 embodies Kia’s human-centric design philosophy, integrating practicality with innovation focused on user experience. Every element of the vehicle has been engineered to enhance comfort, usability, and functionality—from its modular interior and smart connectivity features to its efficient battery systems and optimized energy management technologies.

The PV5 Passenger offers a new standard in electric people mobility, featuring a spacious cabin, sliding doors for easy access, and generous luggage capacity, making it suitable for personal use as well as ride-sharing, hotel shuttles, and corporate transport.

The PV5 Cargo addresses the growing demand for efficient logistics and fleet solutions, offering up to 4.42 cubic meters of cargo space, a low loading height, and easy access for urban delivery operations. It also provides multiple battery options, including a 71.2 kWh long-range pack delivering up to 524 km (NEDC, depending on configuration).

The PV5 Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) reinforces Kia’s commitment to inclusive mobility, offering a fully integrated factory-built solution with optimized interior space and dedicated accessibility features for wheelchair users.

The PV5 Prime Edition focuses on premium mobility services, catering to hotels, resorts, executive transport, and VIP shuttle operations with enhanced comfort, privacy, and passenger experience. Meanwhile, the PV5 Drop Side showcases the platform’s commercial versatility, enabling configurations for specialized trucks, municipal services, construction, and facility management applications.

All PV5 variants benefit from advanced driver assistance systems, including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Lane Following Assist (LFA), Smart Cruise Control (SCC), and speed limit assistance features, alongside connected fleet management and real-time diagnostics.

The vehicle supports fast DC charging, enabling a 10% to 80% charge in approximately 30 minutes under optimal conditions. It also comes equipped with Android Automotive OS, integrated Google services, and over-the-air (OTA) updates, delivering a fully connected and secure digital mobility experience.

Kia continues to expand its PBV ecosystem with future models and concepts such as the PV5 WKNDR, reinforcing the platform’s versatility and its role in shaping the future of smart mobility, logistics, urban transport, and specialized commercial applications.
