Meta launches new smart glasses with modern designs starting at $299
Meta has announced, in partnership with EssilorLuxottica, the launch of its new Meta smart glasses lineup, featuring modern designs and a starting price of $299.
The new collection builds on Meta’s long-standing work in the wearable AI category. Over the past several years, Meta has developed this product line with EssilorLuxottica, selling millions of units globally and helping establish smart glasses as a practical part of everyday life when design and functionality are combined.
Multiple frame designs for different styles
The new Meta lineup includes three main frame designs, each tailored to different facial shapes, moods, and occasions:
- Meta Adventurer: a rectangular, classic-style frame designed for everyday use, available in standard and large sizes.
- Meta Fury: a bold, modern frame designed for a more expressive visual presence.
- Meta special edition in collaboration with Kylie Jenner: a slim oval frame inspired by her personal style.
The glasses are available in a wide range of colors, reflecting the role of eyewear as a personal style accessory. Color options include classic black, brown, deep sporty green, ivory, deep burgundy, reddish brown, and sand beige.
Lens options include sunglasses, Transitions® lenses, anti-reflective coatings, and clear lenses developed by EssilorLuxottica. In total, 26 design combinations are available, offering users multiple configuration choices.
The glasses also support prescription lenses, along with the Rx Lens Swap service: This allows users to have prescription lenses fitted through their preferred optician after purchase while maintaining warranty coverage.
A seamless everyday wearable
The glasses are designed for daily use with enhanced adjustability features, including:
- Three-way adjustable nose pads
- Adjustable temple arms for a better fit
- Flexible extended hinges
They also include core Meta AI-powered features:
- Dedicated Meta AI button for quick activation or customization
- Open-ear audio system for listening while staying aware of surroundings
- Advanced multi-microphone array with wind and noise reduction

- Clear privacy controls with built-in safeguards
- Battery life exceeding 8 hours
AI capabilities and system integration
Meta recently introduced Muse Spark, the first model in its Muse family developed within Meta Superintelligence Labs, designed specifically for Meta products. The model enhances Meta AI by improving multimodal understanding and response accuracy.
The new Meta smart glasses are the first to launch with Meta AI powered by Muse Spark from day one. The model is also available on Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses and Oakley Meta HSTN in the United States and Canada.
With this version of Meta AI, users can receive more advanced assistance, including sports updates, local restaurant recommendations, contextual understanding of what they see, and hands-free support for daily tasks such as health tracking, scheduling, and organization.
Software updates and upcoming features
Meta continues to improve the experience through ongoing software updates, including:
- Flexible Capture: automatically taking multiple photos and suggesting the best shot
- Walking navigation without a visual display, offering step-by-step guidance
- Expanded live translation support for 14 additional languages, including Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Hindi, and Korean
Live translation currently supports more than 20 languages, including Arabic, English, French, German, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and others.
Availability and accessories
The Meta smart glasses are available starting today, and selected retailers including LensCrafters, Sunglasses Hut, Best Buy, Amazon, and others.
Each pair includes a portable folding charging case providing up to 40 additional hours of battery life. A new charging stand is also available, compatible with most Meta smart glasses, designed for home or office use with a slim, minimal aesthetic.
