Qualcomm introduces Snapdragon X2 Plus for Copilot Plus PCs
Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon X2 Plus chipset ahead of CES 2026, positioning it as part of its Snapdragon X Series for the first wave of Copilot Plus laptops expected to arrive in early 2026.

The platform uses Qualcomm’s third-generation Oryon CPU architecture and includes an AI engine rated at 80 trillion operations per second (TOPS) for on-device AI tasks. Reported configurations include a 10-core option and a 6-core option, targeting mainstream thin-and-light designs.

Qualcomm also tied the chipset to connected-PC features, including optional 5G via the Snapdragon X75 modem, along with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 support. On security, reported protections include a Qualcomm secure processing unit (SPU), support for Microsoft Pluton, and optional Snapdragon Guardian technology aimed at enterprise-style device management and protection.
