The artificial intelligence sector in Abu Dhabi is witnessing unprecedented growth, according to recent reports. New data from the Abu Dhabi Chamber reveals that the emirate is now home to 673 AI-focused companies, marking a 61 percent increase between June 2023 and June 2024.
This rapid expansion positions Abu Dhabi as the fastest-growing AI hub in the Middle East and North Africa, and among the leading global markets, which currently host around 90,904 AI-related companies.
In just the first half of 2025, from January to June, the emirate saw the launch of 150 new companies in the field. This momentum has been driven by a combination of strategic investments, advanced infrastructure, and strong demand across industries.
More than 58 percent of these companies focus on innovation, research, and consulting, signaling a knowledge-based and research-driven ecosystem. The close partnership between the government, industry, and global technology leaders has fueled this growth, supported by a strong network of institutions that includes:
- The Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology Council (AIATC)
- The Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC)
- The Technology Innovation Institute (TII)
- AI71
- Hub71

Commenting on the development, Shamis Ali Khalfan Al Dhaheri, Second Vice Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said: “The AI sector in Abu Dhabi is rapidly evolving from early adoption to real-world transformation, with growing activity in research, strategic consulting, and enterprise-level solutions.” He added that this growth is not just about numbers but reflects a vibrant and diverse community of entrepreneurs, scientists, and global leaders who see Abu Dhabi as a destination for pioneering tech ventures.
The Abu Dhabi Chamber is driving this momentum through a new strategic roadmap for 2025–2028 that focuses on easing business operations, shaping policy, and strengthening ecosystem connectivity. A dedicated AI and technology task force is also working to bring together industry leaders to shape the emirate’s AI future, reinforcing Abu Dhabi’s competitive edge in the global innovation race.
