e& successfully completes the sale of its Vodafone stake

Editors Team

e& has officially finalized the successful completion of the transfer and sale of its entire holding in Vodafone Group PLC. This major financial milestone builds directly upon the group’s binding declaration issued on July 10, 2026, regarding a definitive asset purchase agreement with Vega—the specialized corporate acquisition vehicle wholly owned by the billionaire Niel family group.

The telecom operator verified the systematic execution and settlement of 3,944,743,685 ordinary shares in Vodafone, routing the asset block cleanly through dominant institutional counterparties, including BNPP Financial Markets, Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, and Société Générale.

The immediate closing loop of the equity transfer has funneled gross cash proceeds straight to e&’s balance sheet totaling AED 21.5 billion (equivalent to $5.84 billion). The foundational execution metrics index the share valuation layout at approximately 110.5 GBX per unit share.

The transactional architecture contains a secondary collection loop; the remaining financial consideration of 2.02 GBX dividend per share—tied explicitly to Vodafone’s final dividend payout structures for the 2026 fiscal cycle and valued at AED 0.4 billion ($0.11 billion)—is scheduled for direct wire ingestion on July 30, 2026. This multi-tier configuration safely elevates the ultimate, aggregate transactional consideration to AED 21.9 billion ($5.95 billion). The complete investment exit yields a highly profitable net cash return margin for e& calculated at AED 4.8 billion ($1.3 billion).

According to corporate communication files, the block transaction signals a natural and highly deliberate evolution of e&’s global macroeconomic priority framework. The liquid capital influx empowers the tech enterprise to sharply refocus its capital deployment strategies on native, core commercial businesses while successfully crystallizing and unlocking the immense structural value engineered across its external equity investment portfolios.
