Saudi Arabia positions itself at the center of global water innovation with IDWS 2025 — MENA TECH, official media partner
Saudi Arabia continues to consolidate its position as a global hub for water innovation and sustainability with the announcement of the Innovation-Driven Water Sustainability Conference (IDWS) 2025. co-organised by the Saudi Water Authority (SWA) and Tahaluf. The conference is taking place at the Ritz–Carlton, Jeddah, between 8 and 10 December 2025.
Hosting this conference marks a significant milestone in advancing practical, technology-driven solutions to global water challenges while reinforcing the Kingdom’s leadership role in sustainability dialogue and applied innovation.
Held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah Region, IDWS 2025 serves as a strategic international platform bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, innovators, and researchers from across the global water ecosystem.
Since its launch in 2022, the conference has grown steadily, attracting participants from more than 40 countries. The 2025 edition represents a significant expansion, with expected participation exceeding 5,000 attendees from over 120 countries, underscoring the event’s growing global relevance.
IDWS 2025 features an expanded, highly interactive program, including global keynote speakers, expert-led workshops, the Global Prize for Innovation in Water (GPIW), and the renowned “Miyahthon” hackathon, where innovators collaborate to reimagine the future of water. A large-scale international exhibition will also showcase next-generation technologies and solutions spanning advanced desalination, smart utility management, artificial intelligence applications, water sustainability technologies, and circular economy models.
The conference continues to attract leading global and regional organizations, with confirmed participation from companies such as Siemens, ABB, Toray, Tasnee Oman, TOYOBO MC Middle East Industries, National Water Company, LCGPA, KSB, Rawafid Industrial, and Kindasa. Together, these participants represent the full spectrum of water-sector innovation, from cutting-edge research and industrial applications to scalable solutions ready for deployment.
