OPPO launches Reno16 5G series in the Gulf with AI imaging features

OPPO launched the Reno16 5G series in the Gulf, including Reno16, Reno16 Pro, and Reno16 F, with a focus on design, creative imaging, AI experiences, and mobile content editing.

The company said the series is designed to make content capture, editing, and sharing easier and more expressive, through tools such as AI Remix Collage and Pop Camera, along with customized AI experiences powered by ColorOS 16.

The Reno16 series introduces what OPPO described as a 3D living planet design on the Luminous White edition. According to the company, the design uses 3D HoloVerse technology to create a floating visual effect that changes with light and motion.

OPPO said the polished back cover on the series models merges with the camera module through cold-forming technology, aiming to create a unified appearance and reduce dust buildup around the camera area. Reno16 and Reno16 Pro have 6.32-inch displays, while Reno16 F has a larger 6.57-inch screen.

The series focuses on creative imaging through a 50MP ultra-wide selfie camera with a 100-degree field of view. OPPO said the camera allows wider group selfies and more dynamic perspectives.

All three models include a triple rear camera system, featuring a high-resolution main camera with OIS, a portrait camera with about 3.5x optical zoom, and an ultra-wide camera. Reno16 Pro strengthens the imaging setup with a 200MP main camera, allowing users to crop and reframe shots while preserving detail.

OPPO introduced Pop Camera on the Reno16 series as a customized creative shooting experience inside the camera app. The feature allows users to apply vintage-inspired styles, including Digicam, Instant Film, and Light Leak, with one tap.

The series also includes a new creation center inside the Photos app, combining AI-supported editing tools. AI Remix Collage allows users to combine multiple images or short videos into layered visual compositions with animated stickers, outlines, and text. It also allows users to extract animated subjects from motion photos or videos and use them as stickers.

Popout Collage 2.0 adds visual effects that allow subjects to move outside the frame in multiple directions. The series also supports AI Perfect Shot for image merging, according to the submitted material.

For video, Reno16 devices support 4K ultra-wide front portrait video horizon leveling, designed to keep footage level while walking or moving. Dual-View Video 2.0 provides improved stabilization and allows switching between rear lenses while recording.

The Reno16 series runs ColorOS 16 and includes AI experiences for daily use. The new AI Snap Key provides quick access to AI Mind Space, allowing users to capture screen content, organize it, and return to it later.

AI Mind Space includes an AI-supported bill manager that can recognize digital payments and paper receipts and organize them into spending records. The series also includes AI Mind Pilot, which OPPO said coordinates multiple AI models to provide more context-aware assistance and lets users compare responses side by side.

The series includes AI Menu Translator, which OPPO said provides visual explanations of foreign dishes during travel, going beyond text translation of menus.

OPPO designed the Reno16 series for heavy daily use, including content creation, mobile gaming, live streaming, and extended social media browsing. The devices include batteries of 6,700mAh or more, while Reno16 F reaches 7,000mAh, depending on market and product version.

The series supports 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging, with charging specifications varying by market. Reno16 Pro runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 8550 Super platform, with AI HyperBoost 3.0, improved cooling, and supported gaming refresh rates of up to 144Hz. Reno16 runs on the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 Mobile Platform.

The devices carry IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for water and dust resistance. They also support Splash Touch and Glove Touch to keep screens responsive when used with wet hands or gloves.

The Reno16 series is available in the UAE for preorder from July 31, 2026, until August 6, 2026. OPPO said warranty coverage applies across the Gulf countries, Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh. Eligible customers also receive a free three-month Google AI Pro membership, including 5TB of cloud storage and access to Gemini Pro, subject to terms and conditions.
