UAE’s G42 to deploy a massive 8 exaflops supercomputer in India
G42, the Abu Dhabi-based technology group, has partnered with US chipmaker Cerebras to install a national-scale artificial intelligence supercomputer in India. According to a company statement, the system will provide 8 exaflops of computing power, capable of processing enormous datasets at speeds and efficiencies far exceeding those of traditional computing systems.
The collaboration will also include the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI) and India’s Centre for Development of Advanced Computing. The effort builds on the fifth India-UAE strategic dialogue held in December 2025, as well as on the visit by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to India last month.
The supercomputer will function within governance structures defined by India, and all data will remain under national jurisdiction. “Sovereign AI infrastructure is becoming essential for national competitiveness,” said Manu Jain, CEO of G42 India.
When fully operational, the system will be available to a broad range of users, including startups, small and midsize enterprises, and government ministries. Andy Hock, chief strategy officer at Cerebras, noted that the two companies have already rolled out Condor Galaxy supercomputers in the United States, highlighting their experience in deploying AI infrastructure at scale.
The announcement was made at the AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, but no financial terms or deployment timeline were disclosed.
The India initiative follows additional regional and international activity by G42 and Cerebas. Earlier this month, G42 entered into an agreement with a consortium that includes FPT Corporation and Viet Thai Group to build hyperscale data centers and AI infrastructure across Vietnam. Cerebras, in which G42 holds a stake, also secured $1 billion in a recent funding round.
