Huawei launched the 11th Huawei ICT Competition 2026\u20132027 in the Middle East and Central Asia, continuing a regional program designed to help university students and teachers build practical technology skills and strengthen links between academia and industry.<\/p>\n

The competition provides participants with opportunities to develop ICT knowledge and practical capabilities, exchange ideas, and build skills related to a changing technology landscape. Students can progress through national and regional stages before potentially reaching the Global Final.<\/p>\n

Three competitions and five tracks<\/h2>\n

The 2026\u20132027 edition includes three competitions and five tracks covering multiple areas of technology:<\/p>\n

  1. The Practice Competition includes Network, Cloud, and Computing tracks. These cover technologies including datacom, security, WLAN, data center networks, cloud, artificial intelligence, openEuler, openGauss, and Kunpeng.<\/li>\n
  2. The Innovation Competition includes an AI Innovation Track focused on general-purpose AI, agents, computing, storage, ModelEngine, and Nexent.<\/li>\n
  3. The Teaching Competition includes an Industry-Education Collaboration Track intended to strengthen cooperation between universities and the technology sector.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Cong Liang, Chief Strategy Officer of Huawei Middle East and Central Asia Region, said developing a pipeline of skilled young talent is important as countries across the region build more digital and intelligent economies. He said the competition is intended to bring universities, students, and the technology ecosystem closer together while developing practical capabilities in areas including cloud, computing, and AI.<\/p>\n

    More than 180,000 participants over 10 years<\/h2>\n

    Huawei said more than 180,000 teachers and students from over 800 universities across 19 countries in the Middle East and Central Asia have participated in the competition since the first regional edition in 2016\u20132017.<\/p>\n

    The company said the program has also worked with international and educational organizations to broaden access to digital skills and learning. The competition is associated with the UNESCO Global Skills Academy partnership project and has been included on the China Association of Higher Education\u2019s list of national university and college student competitions.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
