Gamma Studios announced the launch of the Digital Media Centre, a virtual production facility located in Dubai Production City. Developed in collaboration with Sony Middle East and Africa, the facility provides filmmakers, directors, cinematographers, and production teams with a dedicated environment for virtual production workflows spanning pre-production planning through final execution.<\/p>\n
The facility operates around Sony’s end-to-end hardware and workflow ecosystem, incorporating a purpose-built training center to transfer practical technical knowledge to regional creators. The launch event showcased Sony’s combined cinema expertise, virtual production technologies, and live production infrastructure within a single location.<\/p>\n
According to Gamma Studios, the facility was recognized by Sony as hosting the largest installation of its 1.5mm pixel pitch VERONA LED wall in the world, as well as the first 1.5mm pitch VERONA display in the Middle East. The studio integrates Sony\u2019s 360 Solution for Virtual Production alongside cinema equipment, including VENICE 2 and BURANO digital cinema cameras, the OCELLUS camera tracking system, the Virtual Production Tool Set, and FR7 cameras.<\/p>\n
Joseph Kadamani, Founder of Gamma Studios, said that the investment was driven by accelerating regional demand for virtual production alongside international filmmakers choosing the United Arab Emirates for its rebate structures. Kadamani noted that hosting Sony’s Digital Media Centre, training facility, and service center provides production teams with a hands-on environment while supporting regional talent development.<\/p>\n
Jobin Joejoe, Managing Director of Sony Middle East and Africa, said that the initiative forms part of Sony’s continued investment in the region’s creative ecosystem. Joejoe stated that the facility provides creators with a dedicated space to conduct workshops, explore workflows, and evaluate how virtual production can support local projects.<\/p>\n
