Microsoft and CPX, a G42 company, launched the second cohort of She Protects at GISEC Global 2026, expanding the initiative designed to help women build the technical skills, professional credentials, and industry experience needed to pursue careers in cybersecurity.<\/p>\n
The second cohort builds on the first edition of the program, which graduated 50 women in June 2026 after a six-month curriculum covering Microsoft security certification training, CPX-led threat education, immersive cyber simulations, and career-readiness support.<\/p>\n
According to the organizers, more than 10 graduates from the first cohort have already moved into internships or full-time roles.<\/p>\n
The second cohort will welcome more than 150 students from universities across the UAE as well as recent graduates with an interest in technology, AI, and cyber defense. The program will run from November 2026 through the end of April 2027, with applications opening in September.<\/p>\n
Microsoft and CPX deliver She Protects with support from the UAE Cyber Security Council. The program is designed to connect cybersecurity education more closely with employability through certification training, practical cyber defense exercises, professional development, and direct exposure to employers.<\/p>\n
H.E. Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cyber Security for the UAE Government, said the UAE\u2019s cybersecurity position will depend not only on technology adoption but also on the people it develops. He said encouraging more women to pursue cybersecurity careers broadens the talent base supporting the country\u2019s digital and AI-powered economy and cyber resilience.<\/p>\n
Amr Kamel, General Manager of Microsoft UAE, said the UAE\u2019s next stage of AI transformation will require cybersecurity talent capable of protecting it. He said the program is built around connecting skills with employment opportunities and that the second cohort is intended to strengthen that pathway for more women.<\/p>\n
Hadi Anwar, CEO of CPX, said developing the next generation with relevant skills, opportunities, and support is important as demand for cybersecurity talent grows across sectors. He said the program demonstrates how partnerships can create new pathways for women entering cybersecurity.<\/p>\n
Participants in the second cohort will undertake Microsoft\u2019s SC-900 Security, Compliance and Identity Fundamentals certification, along with cyber awareness and threat landscape training delivered by CPX.<\/p>\n
The program will also include immersive simulation-based cyber labs powered by Cyberbit, which is identified as the official program technology partner.<\/p>\n
The organizers said She Protects is intended to contribute to workforce readiness as the UAE expands its digital and AI capabilities, bringing together government, technology, cybersecurity, and education partners around a practical pathway into the profession.<\/p>\n
The program also forms part of Microsoft\u2019s wider initiative to expand access to AI and digital skills and strengthen workforce readiness across the UAE.<\/p>\n
