Lego introduced its first \u201cSmart Brick\u201d at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2026 in Las Vegas. The brick anchors a new Lego SMART Play system that adds interactive behavior to physical builds without replacing traditional pieces.<\/p>\n
The Smart Brick keeps the familiar 2×4 form factor but includes built-in tech so creations can respond to how they are played with. Lego\u2019s announcement described a platform made up of the Smart Brick, Smart Tags that guide behavior, and Smart Minifigures that trigger reactions, with compatibility across the existing Lego System in Play.<\/p>\n
The first wave launches through Lego Star Wars sets. The initial lineup includes Darth Vader\u2019s TIE Fighter, Luke\u2019s Red Five X-Wing, and Throne Room Duel and A-Wing, each packaged with a mix of Smart Bricks, Smart Tags, and Smart Minifigures. Preorders opened January 9, 2026, and the sets are scheduled to release March 1, 2026.<\/p>\n
