STMicroelectronics, a Europe-based semiconductor manufacturer, has signed an agreement with Italy\u2019s Oversonic Robotics to introduce customized RoBee humanoid robots into production and logistics workflows across multiple STMicroelectronics sites worldwide.<\/p>\n
Oversonic Robotics said the deal marks the first time a company in the semiconductor sector will operationally integrate \u201ccognitive humanoid\u201d robots inside factories. The first RoBee unit has already been deployed at STMicroelectronics\u2019 advanced packaging and test facility in Malta.<\/p>\n
Under the agreement, the companies plan to use RoBee in manufacturing and logistics settings designed for complex industrial environments. In the announcement, STMicroelectronics said scaling automation and robotics is a key factor for long-term competitiveness, and described humanoid integration as the next step in advanced manufacturing.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Oversonic Robotics described RoBee as a humanoid robot designed to operate safely in environments shared with people, and said the platform is already operating in several Italian companies and in hospital pilot programs. The announcement also stated RoBee is certified for use in both industrial and healthcare settings.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The collaboration is expected to be showcased publicly at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2026, where the two companies said they plan live demonstrations of RoBee and related applications for advanced production contexts.
