The Chinese computer manufacturer, Lenovo, has announced the establishment of a regional headquarters in Riyadh to drive its growth in the Middle East.<\/p>\n
The new headquarters will be located in Al Majdoul Tower, which houses several Public Investment Fund (PIF) subsidiaries and technology companies. Lenovo plans to invest in a flagship store, a VIP customer service center, research and development facilities, and strategic partnerships across Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n
In January, the company announced plans to open a computer factory in the Kingdom following a $2 billion investment deal with Alat, a PIF-backed company. Construction began in February on a 200,000-square-meter advanced facility in the Integrated Logistics Bonded Zone, and production of \u201cMade in Saudi Arabia\u201d products is expected to begin in 2026.<\/p>\n
Matt Dobrodziej, Lenovo\u2019s President for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, said: \u201cOur initiatives in Saudi Arabia are expected to contribute up to $10 billion to the Kingdom\u2019s non-oil GDP by 2030.\u201d<\/p>\n
Lenovo isn\u2019t the only company expanding into the Kingdom. South Korean AI chip startup Rebellions also announced plans this week to establish a unit in Saudi Arabia to serve as an operations hub ensuring a stable supply of custom-designed chips for Saudi Aramco, according to Yonhap News. Aramco invested 20 billion won ($14.4 million) in the company last July, enabling it to pursue new opportunities within Saudi Arabia\u2019s large-scale AI initiatives.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
