Sony unviels its new WF-1000XM6 earphones in Dubai
Sony has introduced the WF-1000XM6, the latest in its 1000X series of truly wireless noise-canceling earbuds, in Dubai. The new model advances the WF-1000XM5 with improvements in noise cancellation, sound quality, call clarity, connectivity, and ergonomic comfort.
According to Sony, the WF-1000XM6 offers a 25% reduction in noise compared to its predecessor, with notably improved performance in the mid-to-high frequency range common in daily environments like cars and cafes.

The earbuds are powered by Sony’s next-generation HD Noise Cancelling Processor QN3e and the Integrated Processor V2. With four microphones per earbud, up from three in the previous model, the system allows for more precise control and real-time adaptive noise cancellation. The Adaptive Noise Cancelling Optimizer analyzes external noise and wearing conditions to maintain consistent performance. Noise reduction is also improved to reduce sound leakage through gaps between the ear tips and the ear canal.
Sony’s proprietary Noise Isolation Earbud Tips are available in four sizes to provide a secure fit and balanced comfort.
Sound performance relies on the combined operation of the QN3e and Integrated Processor V2, including improved DAC amplifier performance and 32-bit audio processing. A new driver unit features a diaphragm made from different materials at the dome and edge, designed to produce deep bass and extended high frequencies while reducing distortion.

The WF-1000XM6 supports Hi-Res Audio Wireless, DSEE Extreme, 360 Reality Audio compatibility, a 10-band EQ in the Sony | Sound Connect app, headtracking, and Background Music Effect.
Sony stated that the sound profile was improved through collaboration with Grammy-winning and Grammy-nominated engineers, including Randy Merrill, Chris Gehringer, Mike Piacentini, and Michael Romanowski.
For calls, the earbuds include two microphones and a bone-conduction sensor on each side, combined with an AI beamforming noise-reduction algorithm to isolate the user’s voice in noisy environments.
The design has been refined for improved comfort, with a body approximately 11% slimmer than its predecessor. A new ventilation structure reduces internal noise, including footsteps and chewing sounds.
Connectivity has also been enhanced by advanced algorithms and antennas that are 1.5 times larger than those in the previous model. The earbuds support LE Audio for low-latency Bluetooth® performance. Battery life provides up to 8 hours on a single charge and up to 24 hours with the charging case. Qi wireless charging is supported.
In addition to unveiling the new WF-1000XM6 earphones, Sony introduced a new Sand Pink color option for the WH-1000XM6 over-ear noise-cancelling headphones, expanding the lineup alongside Black, Platinum Silver, and Midnight Blue.
The WF-1000XM6 in Black and Platinum Silver and the WH-1000XM6 in Sand Pink will be available in the UAE from March 4, 2026.
