Saudi Industry Ministry & King Abdullah University launch manufacturing tech drive
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources has partnered with King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) to launch a new program aimed at speeding up the adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies across the Kingdom’s industrial base.
The initiative, titled “Technologies for Exceptional Transformation,” is designed to help manufacturers integrate smart manufacturing solutions and applied research into day-to-day operations, with a focus on improving productivity, competitiveness, sustainability, and quality in sectors prioritized by the National Industrial Strategy.
The program sits under the Local Industry Stimulation Initiative, and is structured to give industrial companies access to technologies developed at KAUST, alongside support shaped with global service providers.
Eligibility is geared toward Saudi-headquartered manufacturing companies operating in priority sectors. Applicants are expected to define their technical challenges and innovation needs, submit a financing model, and share baseline performance metrics, including research and development (R&D) spending, to help measure impact before and after deployment.
Companies can apply through the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources’ official portal, as the initiative links industrial technology upgrades to broader Vision 2030 targets for industrial transformation.
