Samsung’s Trifold phone leaked: Price, specs, and release date revealed
Samsung’s highly anticipated trifold smartphone is nearly here, according to new leaks. After its recent public debut at an event earlier this month, new details about the dual-hinge device have surfaced. The leaks confirm that the device will be called the Galaxy Z TriFold. Additionally, key specifications, design dimensions, and potential launch price were also revealed.
According to veteran leaker Evan Blass, Samsung’s Galaxy Z TriFold will have a 6.5-inch external display and unfold to reveal a 10-inch internal screen. The outer display can reach a peak brightness of 2,600 nits, while the inner screen can hit a maximum of 1,600 nits. The main camera is reportedly equipped with a 200-megapixel sensor, and the device has a rated 5,437mAh battery.
Blass also observed that the panels differ slightly in thickness—ranging from 3.9mm to 4.2mm—resulting in a folded profile of just 12.1mm. This makes it slimmer than Huawei’s tri-folding Mate XT Ultimate, which measures 12.8mm when folded. For comparison, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 has a folded thickness of 8.9mm.
Additional information from The Chosun Daily, an English-speaking Korean newspaper, indicates that Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy Z TriFold on December 5. This date matches earlier comments from Roh Tae-moon, President and Head of Samsung’s Mobile eXperience Business, who said in July that the company intended to release the device before the year’s end.
Reports indicate that the TriFold will initially be launched only in South Korea and China, with an estimated first shipment of 20,000 to 30,000 units. Given that the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s $2,000 launch price, analysts expect the TriFold to start at around $3,000 due to its complex design and exclusive release.
