New home routines and Ramadan-specific updates coming to “Yasmina” assistant
Yango Group announced a series of Ramadan-focused updates to its bilingual AI assistant, Yasmina, designed to support voice-first home routines throughout the holy month. The features are available in both Arabic and English.
The update enables users to track the Ramadan calendar via simple voice prompts, including questions such as how many days remain until Ramadan, which day of Ramadan it is, or how much time is left until Iftar. Yasmina also provides short daily Ramadan tips upon request, covering themes such as intention-setting, respectful conduct while fasting, balanced routines around suhoor and iftar, and wellbeing habits such as hydration, based on widely observed Ramadan practices.
During Ramadan, Yasmina will set Noor Dubai 93.9 as the default radio station and offer thematic Ramadan playlists accessible via voice commands. Users can also schedule Quran recitations, including setting an alarm to start playback at a chosen time.
For families, Yasmina includes an Arabic-language Ramadan quiz featuring simple educational questions, designed as a shared interactive experience during the month.
Rami Abu Arja, Senior Innovation Marketing Manager at Yango Group Middle East, said Ramadan is shaped by daily rhythms such as prayer times, family gatherings, and meaningful routines, adding that the updates were designed to support these rhythms through natural voice interactions.
The Ramadan features complement Yasmina’s existing religious capabilities, including Quran recitations by parts (juz’) by a dedicated reciter and recitations of specific surahs by various reciters, as well as other faith-related voice requests.
The update is now available across Yango Group’s full range of AI speakers: Yasmina Lite, Mini, Midi, and Max, all available through online and retail stores in the UAE.
