LG presents CLOiD home robot for zero labor home demo at CES 2026

The LG Electronics team unveiled LG CLOiD, an AI-enabled home robot set for public demonstrations at CES 2026 in Las Vegas. The company positioned the robot as part of its “Zero Labor Home” plan, with CLOiD designed to coordinate everyday housework by connecting to smart appliances through LG’s ThinQ ecosystem and ThinQ ON hub.

At CES, LG plans to show CLOiD working in different home setups. One demo has the robot retrieving milk from a refrigerator and placing a croissant into an oven to prepare breakfast. Another has it starting laundry after residents leave, then folding and stacking clothes after drying.

CLOiD is built with a head unit, a torso with two articulated arms, and a wheeled base for navigation. LG described the torso as height-adjustable for reaching objects at different levels. Each arm includes seven degrees of freedom, and each hand includes five independently actuated fingers, aiming to handle common household items across kitchens, laundry rooms, and living spaces.

LG framed the head as a mobile AI home hub, combining a chipset, display, speaker, cameras, sensors, and voice-based generative AI for communication, environment learning, and appliance control. The company also highlighted “Physical AI” using vision-language models that turn visual and verbal input into actions for tasks like opening doors or moving objects.

Alongside the robot, LG introduced LG Actuator AXIUM, a branded line of robotic actuators it described as a core component for service robots. CES visitors can view CLOiD demos January 6 to 9 at LG’s booth (#15004) at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
