Huawei launches the new HUAWEI Mate 80 Pro and a new professional running watch
Huawei unveiled a series of new devices during its global “Now is Your Run” launch event held in Madrid on February 26, 2026, headlined by the return of the Mate Series with the introduction of the HUAWEI Mate 80 Pro.
The HUAWEI Mate 80 Pro features a True-to-Color camera system designed to deliver consistent color accuracy in complex lighting conditions and mixed color temperatures. The device also introduces a new Dual Space Ring design, alongside enhanced performance, second-generation Kunlun Glass, and advanced AI capabilities.

Huawei also announced the HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner 2, marking its return to the professional running watch category after a five-year hiatus. The smartwatch features a new 3D floating aerodynamic structure and a smart positioning algorithm that can maintain route and distance tracking even during signal interruptions. A new smart marathon mode provides comprehensive race management designed to support both elite and everyday runners.

Two-time Olympic marathon champion Eliud Kipchoge was introduced as global ambassador for the WATCH GT Runner. He stated that running represents more than speed and highlighted his collaboration with Huawei to reach runners worldwide.
The event also featured the debut of the HUAWEI WATCH Ultimate 2 in a new green edition, maintaining its diving and outdoor adventure capabilities while adding features tailored for golf training. Huawei also introduced the HUAWEI Band 11 series, featuring a larger, clearer display.
In addition, Huawei unveiled its first compact tablet, the 8.8-inch HUAWEI MatePad Mini, and the HUAWEI FreeBuds Pro 5, described as the industry’s first true wireless earbuds featuring dual-driver AI noise cancellation technology.
Huawei stated that the “Now is Your Run” event reflects its continued commitment to promoting fitness and healthy lifestyles through technological innovation.
