As Part of a $10 Billion Strategy, Lenovo to Open Headquarters in Riyadh

The Chinese computer manufacturer, Lenovo, has announced the establishment of a regional headquarters in Riyadh to drive its growth in the Middle East.
The new headquarters will be located in Al Majdoul Tower, which houses several Public Investment Fund (PIF) subsidiaries and technology companies. Lenovo plans to invest in a flagship store, a VIP customer service center, research and development facilities, and strategic partnerships across Saudi Arabia.
In January, the company announced plans to open a computer factory in the Kingdom following a $2 billion investment deal with Alat, a PIF-backed company. Construction began in February on a 200,000-square-meter advanced facility in the Integrated Logistics Bonded Zone, and production of “Made in Saudi Arabia” products is expected to begin in 2026.
Matt Dobrodziej, Lenovo’s President for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, said: “Our initiatives in Saudi Arabia are expected to contribute up to $10 billion to the Kingdom’s non-oil GDP by 2030.”
Lenovo isn’t the only company expanding into the Kingdom. South Korean AI chip startup Rebellions also announced plans this week to establish a unit in Saudi Arabia to serve as an operations hub ensuring a stable supply of custom-designed chips for Saudi Aramco, according to Yonhap News. Aramco invested 20 billion won ($14.4 million) in the company last July, enabling it to pursue new opportunities within Saudi Arabia’s large-scale AI initiatives.
