On the final day of GITEX Global 2025, Dubai Police signed an MoU with Parkin PJSC, the company that operates most of Dubai’s public parking facilities, to integrate the police’s traffic management systems with Parkin’s smart parking and payment platforms.
The move aims to integrate the two systems, ensure seamless data sharing, and improve the quality and efficiency of the services offered.
According to WAM, the MoU was signed by Brigadier Issam Ibrahim Al Awar, Acting Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, and Mohamed Abdullah Al Ali, CEO of Parkin.
Brigadier Al Awar stated that the agreement demonstrates Dubai Police’s dedication, under the leadership of Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, to enhancing cooperation with public and private entities and supporting Dubai’s digital transformation objectives.
He explained that the partnership with Parkin will enable both parties to leverage advanced technologies for more efficient traffic and parking management. The new connection between systems will facilitate instant, secure information exchange, helping to improve traffic flow, support better planning, and improve decision-making with accurate data.
The system will also assist Dubai Police in identifying vehicles with outstanding fines or seizure orders as soon as they use Parkin facilities, enabling officers to take swift legal action. Additionally, it will aid in detecting vehicles wanted in criminal or traffic cases, supporting police efforts to keep Dubai’s roads safe and secure.
“This project is a big step forward for road safety in Dubai,” Brigadier Al Awar said. “It will improve monitoring, ensure compliance with traffic laws, and reduce cases of unpaid fines or unlicensed vehicles on the road, all of which contribute to a safer and happier city.”
Mohamed Abdullah Al Ali, CEO of Parkin, said, “We’re proud to partner with Dubai Police on this important initiative. Together, we aim to make parking and traffic management smarter, safer, and more efficient for everyone. This collaboration reflects Parkin’s commitment to innovation and to supporting Dubai’s vision of becoming one of the world’s smartest and most sustainable cities.”
